In the 21st minute Victor Coley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Whitney Swift saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Neal Collins kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. The supporters of John Hartford FC booed when Los Angeles Galaxy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Al Mims didn't get a good kick on the ball. Whitney Swift made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Neal Collins in the 36th minute of play. With a little luck, Los Angeles Galaxy's Wade Hightower got control of the ball when Leland Rubio tried to sneak it across the goal line. Whitney Swift showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Al Mims, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Denver Thacker hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. The referee felt a red card was in order, 44 minutes into the game, when Denver Thacker put in a rough tackle. Whitney Swift came out of the goal in the 46th minute to try and stop a shot by Los Angeles Galaxy's Al Mims. But to his dismay, Al Mims quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Logan Barajas made a kick off. In the 51st minute, Al Mims reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Whitney Swift. The goal made the score 1-2. Leland Rubio kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Whitney Swift didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ernie Cotton went, in the 55th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. When Logan Barajas fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored John Hartford FC's protests and gave Logan Barajas a yellow card for diving instead. In the 58th minute, Logan Barajas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Wade Hightower came out of the goal in the 60th minute to try and stop a shot by John Hartford FC's Christian Kruse. But to his dismay, Christian Kruse quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. If Tod Cronshagen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. John Hartford FC's Whitney Swift played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Victor Coley in the 71st minute of play. 72 minutes into the match, Al Mims notched a goal, 2-4, to the right of John Hartford FC's Whitney Swift. Whitney Swift was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. John Hartford FC made a substitution. Wayne MacKenzie replaced Wilton Lowery. Santos Chapman made in the 78th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Yong Aldridge however managed to control. John Hartford FC's attentive Tod Cronshagen managed to snatch the ball when Namık Kemal Dersu made a throw-in in the 80th minute of the game. In the 82nd minute, Santos Chapman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Logan Barajas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Christian Kruse received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Wade Hightower tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 95 played minutes Los Angeles Galaxy got a freekick which was hit by Victor Coley. The Los Angeles Galaxy players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
