Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Sydney Cowan took the kick off in the first half of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Domenico Arden managed to get in a good position for a shot. Downriver AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Domenico Arden was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Duane Carbajal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Walter Hawley recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Marshall Stoner fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivan Higgins having to interfere. Duane Carbajal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Walter Hawley could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Ivan Higgins made a huge save. In the 37th minute, Ali Castaneda hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ivan Higgins acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 38th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Heriberto Alston. After some careless play in the Downriver AFC defense, Marshall Stoner kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ivan Higgins. The Downriver AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ivan Higgins should have stopped the shot. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Walter Hawley made a kick off. 57 minutes into the match, Downriver AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Marshall Stoner came free, but Ivan Higgins reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Chris Humphries hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. After 65 played minutes Domenico Arden rounded Sawgrass's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sydney Cowan in the 68th minute of play forced Sawgrass's goalkeeper Duane Carbajal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cobi Holt's late challenge caught a Downriver AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cobi Holt helped the player get up and apologised. Cobi Holt hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Duane Carbajal stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sydney Cowan's shot from short distance in the 70th minute. Heriberto Alston charged in rather forcefully in the 71st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Heriberto Alston the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Heriberto Alston kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. In the 75th minute Sydney Cowan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Duane Carbajal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 79 minutes into the game, Filiberto Lovell was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Downriver AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sawgrass the free kick. In the 79th minute, Filiberto Lovell hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Downriver AFC getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Sydney Cowan hit a great ball. In the 86th minute Marshall Stoner shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ivan Higgins saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marshall Stoner took the ball and in the 92 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ivan Higgins. Ivan Higgins dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1.
