Whitney Swift made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcellus Paris in the 13th minute of play. Whitney Swift showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcellus Paris, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. When Anson AFC's Austin Dickens in the 15th minute got a chance for a shot 15th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye John Hartford FC's goalie prevented a goal. In the 16th minute Otto Cagle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Whitney Swift saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thad Avery showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leland Rubio in the 31st minute of the match. Through an outstanding action, after 32 minutes, Thad Avery successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 33rd minute John Hartford FC were awarded a corner. Rocco Berg went to the cornerflag to take it. John Hartford FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Rocco Berg in the 35th minute. The corner led John Hartford FC's Rocco Berg to fire away a dangerous shot which Thad Avery despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Ed Chung hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. If Leland Rubio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-2 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Otto Cagle to strike the kick off in the second half. Christian Kruse struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. Thad Avery didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for John Hartford FC. Thad Avery took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leland Rubio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 54th minute Christian Kruse shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thad Avery saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Whitney Swift made an important save on a dangerous shot by Austin Dickens in the 57th minute. Whitney Swift came out of the goal in the 59th minute to try and stop a shot by Anson AFC's Austin Dickens. But to his dismay, Austin Dickens quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-3. Tod Cronshagen charged in rather forcefully in the 62nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tod Cronshagen the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, John Hartford FC's Tod Cronshagen got a free kick in the 62nd minute. After 63 played minutes Anson AFC got a freekick which was hit by Enoch Norwood. Leland Rubio scored 4-3 in the 65th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Thad Avery, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to John Hartford FC getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Tod Cronshagen hit a great ball. John Hartford FC's Whitney Swift played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Otto Cagle in the 70th minute of play. 74 minutes into the match, Austin Dickens had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Whitney Swift. John Hartford FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Austin Dickens was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-4. John Hartford FC's Wayne MacKenzie was substituted for Wilton Lowery. John Hartford FC's Whitney Swift played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ed Chung in the 79th minute of play. 80 minutes into the match, John Hartford FC's goal looked a bit too open when Otto Cagle came free, but Whitney Swift reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Christian Kruse fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thad Avery having to interfere. Austin Dickens could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 86th minute of the match, but Whitney Swift made a huge save. Ed Chung came free with the goalkeeper in the 87th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Whitney Swift could save by the left post. After a defensive mix-up in Anson AFC's zone, Christian Kruse stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thad Avery came out of the goal and Christian Kruse tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 95th minute Leland Rubio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thad Avery saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Christian Kruse had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
