In the 6th minute, Jack Agnes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Bombai Bombis came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Kentucky Mustangs fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bombai Bombis couldn't finish the play. After 11 played minutes Kentucky Mustangs got a freekick which was hit by Jack Agnes. Sammy Dunbar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stanford Peters having to interfere. 15 minutes into the game, Kentucky Mustangs's Jack Agnes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. William Nordkvist made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 17th minute, Jack Agnes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Kentucky Mustangs fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. If Jack Agnes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Wally Covington got free with Stanford Peters in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Wally Covington in the 38thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Stanford Peters, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Colorado FC's William Nordkvist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gao Lang Feng in the 39th minute of play. A collision led to Colorado FC getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Jimmy Kaplan hit a great ball. Kentucky Mustangs's attentive Jose Cunningham managed to snatch the ball when Dale Bryant made a throw-in in the 42nd minute of the game. William Nordkvist showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bombai Bombis in the 45th minute of the match. After 47 minutes Kentucky Mustangs's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Sammy Dunbar who took care of the corner kick. The Colorado FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Kentucky Mustangs were winning 0-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jack Agnes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the game, Jose Cunningham threw the ball into play from the sideline. Colorado FC's Dale Bryant quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. A sloppy throw-in by Marco van Zijderveld in the 57th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Colorado FC's Dale Bryant. Stanford Peters stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Wally Covington's shot from short distance in the 73rd minute. In the 75th minute, Jack Agnes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. William Nordkvist was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-5. Kentucky Mustangs's Bombai Bombis got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 80th minute, Tony Freitas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 83 minutes, Bombai Bombis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The supporters of Colorado FC booed when Kentucky Mustangs was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bombai Bombis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dale Bryant kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wally Covington in the 93rd minute of play forced Kentucky Mustangs's goalkeeper Stanford Peters to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Colorado FC's Wally Covington in the 96th minute got a chance for a shot 96th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie.
