Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Wally Covington made the kick off which started today's match. Northview FC's Antonio Small played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emanuel Rosenthal in the 3rd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Wally Covington managed to get in a good position for a shot. Colorado FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Wally Covington was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Antonio Small breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 5th minute, Emanuel Rosenthal ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Antonio Small was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. With a little luck, Colorado FC's William Nordkvist got control of the ball when Seth Carrasco tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Colorado FC's Wally Covington in the 12th minute got a chance for a shot 12th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Northview FC's goalie prevented a goal. Wally Covington's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Antonio Small read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 14th minute of play. The Colorado FC fans' excitement grew in the 17th match minute when Colorado FC's Wally Covington looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After 22 minutes Northview FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Sammy Dunbar who took care of the corner kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Northview FC's goalie and right to Wally Covington. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Northview FC's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. After 23 played minutes Northview FC got a freekick which was hit by Seth Carrasco. Antonio Small showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sammy Dunbar in the 26th minute of the match. Emanuel Rosenthal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Northview FC's zone, Wally Covington stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Antonio Small came out of the goal and Wally Covington tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 32 minutes, Todd Berger mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Northview FC and the Colorado FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. 36 minutes into the match, Wally Covington notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Northview FC's Antonio Small. Antonio Small was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Wally Covington managed to get in a good position for a shot. Colorado FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Wally Covington was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Antonio Small breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 41 minutes into the match, Sammy Dunbar notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of Northview FC's Antonio Small. Antonio Small was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Duncan Izturis got a throw-in 46 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Todd Berger. After the first half Colorado FC were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

An unexpected shot in the 51st minute by Emanuel Rosenthal got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Wally Covington took the ball and in the 53 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Antonio Small. Antonio Small dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-5. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Emanuel Rosenthal managed to get in a good position for a shot. Colorado FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Emanuel Rosenthal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Antonio Small breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Colorado FC fans' excitement grew in the 63rd match minute when Colorado FC's Wally Covington looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. William Nordkvist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ernest Magee, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Sammy Dunbar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Antonio Small was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Emanuel Rosenthal showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-8 in the 70 minute of play. After some careless play in the Colorado FC defense, Ernest Magee kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of William Nordkvist. The Colorado FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that William Nordkvist should have stopped the shot. Colorado FC's Allan Madsen was substituted for Emanuel Rosenthal. Antonio Small didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tom Erickson went, in the 85th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-9 was the resulting score. Wally Covington's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 92ndth minute, Antonio Small skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 93rd minute Allan Madsen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antonio Small saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Wally Covington in the 94th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Antonio Small prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Sammy Dunbar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Antonio Small tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match was over Colorado FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Northview FC throughout the match.
