Jack Agnes might have been able to make a better finish in the 3rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over William Nordkvist. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jack Agnes ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jack Agnes got free with William Nordkvist in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bombai Bombis in the 5th minute of play forced Colorado FC's goalkeeper William Nordkvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 7th minute Kentucky Mustangs were awarded a corner. M. Ramdhan Rombot went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Gao Lang Feng almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Colorado FC's William Nordkvist did a great save. In the 8th match minute, Colorado FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dale Bryant to maneuver through the defense. 14 minutes into the match, Colorado FC's goalkeeper William Nordkvist had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jack Agnes. 18 minutes into the match, Colorado FC's Wally Covington sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Stanford Peters narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A collision led to Kentucky Mustangs getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Sophan Sudiro hit a great ball. The supporters of Kentucky Mustangs booed when Colorado FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Duane Dunn didn't get a good kick on the ball. Roy Kaiser kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. M. Ramdhan Rombot's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but William Nordkvist read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 33rd minute of play. In the 35th of the match, Bombai Bombis tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but William Nordkvist got in the way and made a wonderful save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Wally Covington in the 36th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Stanford Peters saved Kentucky Mustangs from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Colorado FC's Jimmy Kaplan got a free kick in the 38th minute. When Bombai Bombis came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Kentucky Mustangs fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bombai Bombis couldn't finish the play. William Nordkvist was out of position in the 40 minute of play, and Bombai Bombis capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Bombai Bombis really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. The crowd rose to their feet as Jack Agnes kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving William Nordkvist. That made the score 2-0 in the 45 minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Wally Covington stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tracy Brunson during the 60th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 60 played minutes Kentucky Mustangs got a freekick which was hit by Tracy Brunson. With his leg Stanford Peters managed to avoid a goal in the 62ndth minute, when Colorado FC's Wally Covington fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. A collision led to Colorado FC getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Duane Dunn hit a great ball. In the 63rd minute of the match M. Ramdhan Rombot shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but William Nordkvist showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 67 minutes into the match, Colorado FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jack Agnes came free, but William Nordkvist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bombai Bombis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 71st minute, Sammy Dunbar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Colorado FC's William Nordkvist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bombai Bombis in the 75th minute of play. 77 minutes into the game, Jack Agnes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. William Nordkvist was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Bombai Bombis blasted a shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without William Nordkvist having to make a save. In the 92ndth minute of the game Jack Agnes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Colorado FC's William Nordkvist was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 94th minute Jack Agnes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but William Nordkvist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tom Erickson during the 94th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Colorado FC's Tom Erickson got a free kick in the 95th minute.
