Felipe Elias took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bernie Alden, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Felipe Valencia scored 0-1 in the 21st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Deon Biggs, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 30 minutes into the game, Bernie Alden cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Felipe Elias was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Micah Sampson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felipe Elias having to interfere. The supporters of Wichita Regulators booed when Woods Cross was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alan Hartman didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felipe Valencia in the 39th minute of play forced Woods Cross's goalkeeper Deon Biggs to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Felipe Valencia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With an all-out effort, Woods Cross's Felipe Elias threw himself towards the right post 46 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Bernie Alden, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Bernie Alden made the kick off in the second half. Felipe Valencia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Deon Biggs tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Felipe Valencia blasted a shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Deon Biggs having to make a save. If Felipe Valencia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Felipe Valencia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Deon Biggs having to interfere. Felipe Valencia blasted a shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Deon Biggs having to make a save. Felipe Elias didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Micah Sampson went, in the 77th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. In the 80th minute, Vince Cleveland got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Felipe Valencia managed to get in a good position for a shot. Wichita Regulators's supporters rose to their feet, but Felipe Valencia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Deon Biggs breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 84th minute, Felipe Valencia fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Wichita Regulators's Quinton Harmon got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Felipe Valencia came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Wichita Regulators fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Felipe Valencia couldn't finish the play.
