The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Steve Ortiz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wilber Kyle in the 19th minute of the match. Steve Ortiz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jefferson Norton in the 22nd minute. Truman Hinson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Enoch Marks, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. 32 minutes into the match, Triton Central FC's goalkeeper Steve Ortiz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jefferson Norton. The crowd rose to their feet as South Charleston FC's Hector Solis slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Steve Ortiz. That made the score 3-0 after 45 minutes of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jefferson Norton stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Hector Solis managed to get in a good position for a shot. South Charleston FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Hector Solis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Steve Ortiz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Triton Central FC booed when South Charleston FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daron Amos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Steve Ortiz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hector Solis in the 61st minute of play. Jefferson Norton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Steve Ortiz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 66 minutes into the match, Triton Central FC's goal looked a bit too open when Hector Solis came free, but Steve Ortiz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 69th minute Hector Solis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Steve Ortiz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 70th minute, Wilber Kyle made a precise shot to the right of Steve Ortiz. Triton Central FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Antony Lane got free with Truman Hinson in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Triton Central FC's Ernest Doyle was substituted for Enoch Marks. In the 89th minute, one of Triton Central FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Triton Central FC. After having played for 93 minutes, Antony Lane managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Triton Central FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Antony Lane was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of South Charleston FC booed when Triton Central FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matt Howe didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 97th minute, Ernest Doyle managed to get in a good position for a shot. Triton Central FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ernest Doyle was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Truman Hinson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Many of Triton Central FC's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Triton Central FC may have spent more time on the ball, but South Charleston FC were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
