Riley Moss dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Diego Burch sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 16 minutes into the match, Inter Miami's goal looked a bit too open when Igor Skwira came free, but Riley Moss reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 17 minutes into the match, Rodolfo Hood dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Dursun Ali Arısal, 1-1. A collision led to Inter Miami getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Dwight Krause hit a great ball. In the 22nd minute, Teo Leguizamón got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Chivas USA's Dursun Ali Arısal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rodolfo Hood in the 23rd minute of play. 26 minutes into the match, Igor Skwira notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Inter Miami's Riley Moss. Riley Moss was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Riley Moss made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Igor Skwira in the 32nd minute of play. Teo Leguizamón took the ball and in the 35 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Riley Moss. Riley Moss dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. If Diego Burch had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dursun Ali Arısal was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Nicky Nichols showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-3 in the 40 minute of play. Diego Burch came free with the goalkeeper in the 43rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Dursun Ali Arısal could save by the left post. 45 minutes into the match, Inter Miami's goal looked a bit too open when Igor Skwira came free, but Riley Moss reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 2-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Riley Moss made an important save on a dangerous shot by Juan Charro in the 53rd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Igor Skwira got free with Riley Moss in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Rodolfo Hood received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Dursun Ali Arısal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Juan Charro charged in rather forcefully in the 70th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Juan Charro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Inter Miami booed when Chivas USA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan Charro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Chivas USA made a substitution. Reyes Jean replaced Juan Charro. After 72 played minutes Chivas USA got a freekick which was hit by Juan Charro. Dursun Ali Arısal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicky Nichols, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Davis Mabry kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. Chivas USA's supporters stood up full of expectation in the 83rd minute of the game, when Björn-Torben Buß after an extraordinary solo performance found himself with a golden opportunity in front of Inter Miami's goal. Björn-Torben Buß was unfortunally a little to anxious and the ball went outside the goal. 87 minutes into the match, Chivas USA's goal looked a bit too open when Nicky Nichols came free, but Dursun Ali Arısal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 92nd minute Nicky Nichols shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dursun Ali Arısal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dursun Ali Arısal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodolfo Hood in the 93rd minute of play. Björn-Torben Buß hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. Chivas USA's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
