Chris Valle showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reinaldo Zapata, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. In the 12th match minute, Kathleen AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Quintin Swain to maneuver through the defense. Kathleen AFC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

A hard shot 54 in the game by Reinaldo Zapata from a close distance when the talented Chris Valle managed to make a qualified save. Phoenixsun's players were relieved. Dario Stahl was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Reinaldo Zapata fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chris Valle having to interfere.
