The supporters of Flame Throwers booed when Westville was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Allen Locke didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mickey Velasco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 5th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Flame Throwers's Dave Paris slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Merlin Jarrett. That made the score 1-0 after 10 minutes of play. The Flame Throwers fans' excitement grew in the 17th match minute when Flame Throwers's Dave Paris looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. With 20 minutes on the clock, Theron Milligan commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Brian Hyatt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Merlin Jarrett having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 26 minutes, Dave Paris took a quick shot and it went in 4-1 without a chance for Merlin Jarrett to make any attempt to save it. Waldo Helton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Connor Gee in the 30th minute of play. A hard shot 31 in the game by Brian Hyatt from a close distance when the talented Merlin Jarrett managed to make a qualified save. Westville's players were relieved. Westville's Merlin Jarrett played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Scotty Dietz in the 34th minute of play. After having played for 40 minutes, Connor Gee managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Westville's supporters crossed their fingers, but Connor Gee was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 42 minutes into the game, Eduardo Stjohn was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Westville's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Flame Throwers the free kick. Flame Throwers's Dave Paris got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 44 played minutes Westville got a freekick which was hit by Eduardo Stjohn. Merlin Jarrett made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brian Hyatt in the 46th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Dave Paris made the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Dave Paris had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Merlin Jarrett. Westville's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dave Paris was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-1. In the 54th minute Dave Paris shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Merlin Jarrett saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Merlin Jarrett stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Aurelio Benson's shot from short distance in the 55th minute. Ronny Chapman hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Scotty Dietz in the 65th minute of play forced Westville's goalkeeper Merlin Jarrett to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match clock showed 67 minutes, the score became 7-1 when Dave Paris sped through Westville's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Merlin Jarrett. Dave Paris received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Merlin Jarrett tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Teobaldo Soldevila received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Waldo Helton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Westville's Merlin Jarrett played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dave Paris in the 74th minute of play. Flame Throwers's Mickey Velasco was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Merlin Jarrett in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 78th minute, Scotty Dietz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Merlin Jarrett was frozen by the shot and now it was 8-1. Merlin Jarrett showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dave Paris, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. If Scotty Dietz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Teobaldo Soldevila fell near the penalty area in the 86th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Westville's protests and gave Teobaldo Soldevila a yellow card for diving instead. Teobaldo Soldevila hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Westville defense, Dave Paris kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Merlin Jarrett. The Westville fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Merlin Jarrett should have stopped the shot. When Flame Throwers's Brian Hyatt in the 91st minute got a chance for a shot 91st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Westville's goalie prevented a goal. If Dave Paris had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 96 minutes of play Westville's Eduardo Stjohn was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Eduardo Stjohn hit a great freekick 97 minutes into the match. Flame Throwers walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
