Randall Scruggs sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 43rd minute of the match Tuan Sousa shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sergey Kazachenok showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Randall Scruggs sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Ingemar Vallgren in the 52nd minute of play forced Valdosta's goalkeeper Blaine Wills to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Rich Hill FC's Craig Chang got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Sergey Kazachenok took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Randall Scruggs, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Randall Scruggs had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rich Hill FC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
