Zamalek FC's Daron Joseph got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 21st minute Antonio Corley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rhys Dimmock saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cesar Donio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zack Grier in the 29th minute of play. Cesar Donio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fred Kirkpatrick, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. With a little luck, Zamalek FC's Rhys Dimmock got control of the ball when Alonso Snider tried to sneak it across the goal line.
