The referee ignored Markham FC's protests and gave Russell Garrett a yellow card for diving instead. After 12 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Markham FC! Markham FC:s Bektaş Veli Tokuz showed great skill when he stopped Leonardo Lane:s penalty. 0-2 came in the 14th minute when Leonardo Lane all by himself managed to get straight through the defense and place the ball into the net to the right of Bektaş Veli Tokuz. Zamalek FC's Rhys Dimmock played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bartolo Urtzi in the 22nd minute of play. Bektaş Veli Tokuz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leonardo Lane in the 23rd minute of the match. Rhys Dimmock took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bartolo Urtzi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Markham FC's Bektaş Veli Tokuz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mugurel Balaeț in the 26th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Bartolo Urtzi kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Rhys Dimmock. That made the score 1-2 in the 30 minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bartolo Urtzi got free with Rhys Dimmock in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With 40 minutes on the clock, Viktor Schukin commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. A collision led to Zamalek FC getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Viktor Schukin hit a great ball. Bektaş Veli Tokuz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leonardo Lane in the 45th minute of play.

The wind increased when Leonardo Lane made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Fred Kirkpatrick reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Bektaş Veli Tokuz. The goal made the score 1-3. Monroe Mims kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match.
