Santos FC's Aaron Smallwood proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Santos FC from getting a goal against them. The audience was convinced that Tyron Velasquez's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Iurie Dășanu was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. When Santos FC's Lanny Gilmore in the 26th minute got a chance for a shot 26th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After 41 played minutes Santos FC got a freekick which was hit by Tory Weeks. Aaron Smallwood made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nigel Cordero in the 43rd minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nigel Cordero to strike the kick off in the second half. Santos FC's Terence Nicholas got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 54 minutes into the match, þînk þ£st ƒç's goalkeeper Iurie Dășanu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tyron Velasquez. When þînk þ£st ƒç's Nigel Cordero in the 58th minute got a chance for a shot 58th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Aaron Smallwood showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pascal Hayden, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Aaron Smallwood came out of the goal and Pascal Hayden tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Tyron Velasquez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 85th minute, Lanny Gilmore ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Iurie Dășanu was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. After a defensive mix-up in þînk þ£st ƒç's zone, Lanny Gilmore stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Iurie Dășanu came out of the goal and Lanny Gilmore tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 90th minute, Tyron Velasquez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 92 minutes into the game, þînk þ£st ƒç's Jeremiah Jeffries nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Aaron Smallwood made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3.
