Seating: 2000, VIP seats: 184) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Lanny Gilmore made the kick off which started today's match. Merle Annan made in the 3rd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Santos FC's Mike Richardson. After 4 minutes, Lanny Gilmore made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. FC SLAVIA FL's Stefan Nicholas tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. When Lanny Gilmore came up free with the goalie in the 7th minute, the Santos FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lanny Gilmore couldn't finish the play. Santos FC's Aaron Smallwood proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to save Santos FC from getting a goal against them. Stefan Nicholas stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lanny Gilmore's shot from short distance in the 12th minute. After 16 minutes, Lanny Gilmore made it 1-2 with a short kick to the right side. FC SLAVIA FL's Stefan Nicholas tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After 19 played minutes FC SLAVIA FL got a freekick which was hit by Wilfred Stanton. When Santos FC's Lanny Gilmore in the 20th minute got a chance for a shot 20th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Stefan Nicholas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lanny Gilmore in the 27th minute of the match. 28 minutes into the game, one of FC SLAVIA FL:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. After a defensive mix-up in Santos FC's zone, Manuel Rush stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aaron Smallwood came out of the goal and Manuel Rush tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tyron Velasquez in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Stefan Nicholas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Lanny Gilmore managed to get in a good position for a shot. Santos FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Lanny Gilmore was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Stefan Nicholas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Manuel Rush got free with Aaron Smallwood in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Kermit Myles fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC SLAVIA FL's protests and gave Kermit Myles a yellow card for diving instead. After the first half Santos FC were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
54 minutes into the match, FC SLAVIA FL's goal looked a bit too open when Tyron Velasquez came free, but Stefan Nicholas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lanny Gilmore got free with Stefan Nicholas in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A nice corner shot did that Warren Ruiz got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Stefan Nicholas quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Lanny Gilmore in the 59thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Stefan Nicholas, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Lanny Gilmore received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Stefan Nicholas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 61 played minutes FC SLAVIA FL got a freekick which was hit by Wilfred Stanton. 65 minutes into the match, FC SLAVIA FL's goalkeeper Stefan Nicholas had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lanny Gilmore. Aaron Smallwood took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rick Fuentes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 70 minutes into the game, Wilfred Stanton threw the ball into play from the sideline. Santos FC's Dominic Albright quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Wilfred Stanton made in the 71st minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Merle Annan. If Lanny Gilmore had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Santos FC's Aaron Smallwood played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rick Fuentes in the 81st minute of play. Aaron Smallwood took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rick Fuentes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lanny Gilmore fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stefan Nicholas having to interfere.
