Emmanuel Corley took the ball and in the 6 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Garrett McKinney. Garrett McKinney dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Garrett McKinney took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Garrett Brock, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Manuel Rush scored 1-1 in the 16th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Hal Mackey, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Manuel Rush had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Merle Annan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hal Mackey having to interfere. Hal Mackey made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rick Fuentes in the 42nd minute of play. Stevie Goddard kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Manuel Rush in the 44th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hal Mackey prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience was convinced that Manuel Rush's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hal Mackey was relentless in the 44th minute of the game. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Emmanuel Corley to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Western Springs FC booed when FC SLAVIA FL was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 50 match minutes in a wonderful position. Van Fritz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wade Acero's late challenge caught a Western Springs FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Wade Acero helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to FC SLAVIA FL getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Wade Acero hit a great ball. 55 minutes into the match, FC SLAVIA FL's goal looked a bit too open when Garrett Brock came free, but Garrett McKinney reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Garrett McKinney showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frankie Russell in the 59th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Western Springs FC's Charlie Armenta got a free kick in the 60th minute. Western Springs FC's Hal Mackey proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 62nd minute of the match, managed to save Western Springs FC from getting a goal against them. In the 65th match minute, Western Springs FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stevie Goddard to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Manuel Rush got free with Hal Mackey in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 92 minutes into the match, Western Springs FC's goalkeeper Hal Mackey had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Merle Annan.
