Jospeh McNally showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kerry Sellers, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. After taking down the ball on Brooklyn SC's corner Dwight Schrute fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Farid Mondragón quite easily take care of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felix Augustin in the 41st minute of play forced C. A. Independiente's goalkeeper Farid Mondragón to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Juanpi Sorin hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Independiente players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Brooklyn SC were winning 2-3.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Felix Augustin was the one to do the kick off. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
