This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Farid Mondragón as he didn't even see the shot coming. C. A. Independiente's Farid Mondragón proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save C. A. Independiente from getting a goal against them. 17 minutes into the match, C. A. Independiente's Kerry Sellers sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mihkel Aksalu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Mihkel Aksalu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kerry Sellers in the 26th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Dep. Moron's zone, Sidney Forbes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mihkel Aksalu came out of the goal and Sidney Forbes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mihkel Aksalu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sid Chadwick in the 33rd minute of play. 34 minutes had been played when some careless play by Dep. Moron's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Eric Snowden was slow to take the kick. During this time C. A. Independiente's players had a chance to rest. In the 36th minute, Sid Chadwick hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Farid Mondragón took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nacho Hernández, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sid Chadwick took the ball and in the 39 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mihkel Aksalu. Mihkel Aksalu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. C. A. Independiente's Farid Mondragón played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nacho Hernández in the 42nd minute of play. In the 44th minute, Merrill Hancock hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sid Chadwick struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Mihkel Aksalu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for C. A. Independiente. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Mihkel Aksalu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sidney Forbes, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. After 61 minutes Dep. Moron's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Eric Snowden who took care of the corner kick. Sidney Forbes's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 63rdth minute, Mihkel Aksalu skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Sid Chadwick fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mihkel Aksalu having to interfere. Dep. Moron's Pete Matlock was substituted for Merrill Hancock. Gustavo López received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Mihkel Aksalu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Dep. Moron's Anthony Barnes got a free kick in the 70th minute. In the 72nd minute, Anthony Barnes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Dep. Moron's Mihkel Aksalu got control of the ball when Sidney Forbes tried to sneak it across the goal line. 81 minutes into the game, Melvin Ruffin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. C. A. Independiente's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Dep. Moron the free kick. C. A. Independiente's Farid Mondragón played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Josepe Zabalo in the 84th minute of play. The Dep. Moron supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching C. A. Independiente's performance. The match ended with a win for C. A. Independiente.
