Edgardo Silva's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Farid Mondragón read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 6th minute of play. Farid Mondragón was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Edgardo Silva showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 8 minute of play. Jeremy Nicholas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sid Chadwick in the 10th minute of the match. If Edgardo Silva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Edgardo Silva could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Farid Mondragón made a huge save. 16 minutes into the match, New England Minas's Edgardo Silva sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Farid Mondragón narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 17 minutes C. A. Independiente's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Jörgen Frohm who took care of the corner kick. New England Minas's Jörgen Frohm was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Farid Mondragón in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Edgardo Silva could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Farid Mondragón made a huge save. Edgardo Silva might have been able to make a better finish in the 24th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Farid Mondragón. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edgardo Silva ran back to his position shaking his head. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sidney Forbes in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jeremy Nicholas saved New England Minas from getting behind. Farid Mondragón made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edgardo Silva in the 28th minute of play. 29 minutes into the game, Erberk Müftüoğlu threw the ball into play from the sideline. New England Minas's Jörgen Frohm quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Jeremy Nicholas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sid Chadwick, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. 34 minutes had been played when some careless play by C. Edgardo Silva who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 41stth minute tested the skills of Farid Mondragón when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Sidney Forbes to strike the kick off in the second half. The throw-in from Erberk Müftüoğlu in the 54th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by New England Minas's Jörgen Frohm. Independiente made a substitution. Pan Jing Qi replaced Ryszard Prusinowski. Alfredo Felder made in the 59th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Sidney Forbes. In the 60thth minute of the game Edgardo Silva who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but C. A. Independiente's Farid Mondragón was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jeremy Nicholas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kerry Sellers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Farid Mondragón stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edgardo Silva's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. Farid Mondragón showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edgardo Silva, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. New England Minas's Glen Conklin managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Alfredo Felder in the 68 minute of the game. In the 83rd minute, Tio Lio ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Farid Mondragón was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. 86 minutes into the match, C. A. Independiente's goal looked a bit too open when Tony Pacheco came free, but Farid Mondragón reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 88th minute Kerry Sellers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeremy Nicholas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jeremy Nicholas came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by C. A. Independiente's Kerry Sellers. But to his dismay, Kerry Sellers quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. 91 minutes into the match, Tio Lio notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of C. A. Independiente's Farid Mondragón. Farid Mondragón was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 94 minutes into the match, New England Minas's goalkeeper Jeremy Nicholas had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sidney Forbes.
