Spectators: 10827 (Terracing: 8121, Seating: 2490, VIP seats: 216) Sidney Forbes started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. C. A. Pipon Pipon's Jannes Ruttens proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to save C. A. Pipon Pipon from getting a goal against them. In the 12th minute, Kerry Sellers made a precise shot to the right of Jannes Ruttens. C. A. Pipon Pipon's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kerry Sellers in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jannes Ruttens prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 17 minutes into the match, C. A. Pipon Pipon's goal looked a bit too open when Kerry Sellers came free, but Jannes Ruttens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jannes Ruttens took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kerry Sellers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, C. A. Pipon Pipon's Jannes Ruttens got control of the ball when Sidney Forbes tried to sneak it across the goal line. C. A. Pipon Pipon's Jannes Ruttens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kerry Sellers in the 23rd minute of play. C. A. Independiente's attentive Tomas Gustafson managed to snatch the ball when Al Whatley made a throw-in in the 28th minute of the game. 31 minutes into the match, Nicky Bryson notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of C. A. Independiente's Farid Mondragón. Farid Mondragón was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Farid Mondragón made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicky Bryson in the 34th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sidney Forbes got free with Jannes Ruttens in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The audience was convinced that Kerry Sellers's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jannes Ruttens was relentless in the 39th minute of the game. Farid Mondragón made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicky Bryson in the 41st minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kerry Sellers in the 44th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jannes Ruttens saved C. A. Pipon Pipon from getting behind. After a rather tough play, C. A. Pipon Pipon's Al Whatley got a free kick in the 45th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kerry Sellers in the 46th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jannes Ruttens saved C. A. Pipon Pipon from getting behind. C. A. Independiente's Tommie Bolton was substituted for Sidney Forbes. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nicky Bryson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th match minute, C. A. Independiente was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfredo Felder to maneuver through the defense. Jannes Ruttens came out of the goal in the 57th minute to try and stop a shot by C. A. Independiente's Kerry Sellers. But to his dismay, Kerry Sellers quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Tommie Bolton struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Jannes Ruttens didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for C. A. Independiente. Kerry Sellers recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sid Chadwick in the 65th minute of play forced C. A. Pipon Pipon's goalkeeper Jannes Ruttens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jannes Ruttens showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kerry Sellers in the 67th minute of the match. Jannes Ruttens took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kerry Sellers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. C. A. Pipon Pipon's Jannes Ruttens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kerry Sellers in the 72nd minute of play. In the 79thth minute of the game Kerry Sellers who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but C. A. Pipon Pipon's Jannes Ruttens was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jannes Ruttens showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tommie Bolton in the 81st minute of the match. In the 86th minute, C. A. Pipon Pipon's Cristóvão Ortiz seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Cristóvão Ortiz the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of C. A. Pipon Pipon protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Cristóvão Ortiz had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 87th minute, Cristóvão Ortiz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. C. A. Pipon Pipon made a substitution. Malcolm McIntosh replaced Beto Montenegro. In the 88th match minute, C. A. Pipon Pipon was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristóvão Ortiz to maneuver through the defense. In the 89th minute Tommie Bolton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jannes Ruttens saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Francesco Figueroa got free with Farid Mondragón in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jannes Ruttens took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kerry Sellers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the last second Farid Mondragón throw himself and got hold of the ball when Cesario Irazu in the 93rdth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Claudio Marangoni hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. Nicky Bryson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Farid Mondragón tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 99 minutes into the game, C. A. Pipon Pipon's Cesario Irazu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Farid Mondragón made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. Despite being the better team, C. A. Pipon Pipon failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
