Wilbur Bain came free with the goalkeeper in the 13th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Farid Mondragón could save by the left post. 15 minutes into the match, Wilbur Bain dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Farid Mondragón, 2-0. In the 23rd minute C. A. Independiente were awarded a corner. Eric Snowden went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Eric Snowden almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but DIABLO ROJO CALIFORNIANO's Baykan Erincer did a great save. Baykan Erincer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kerry Sellers in the 24th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Wilbur Bain got free with Farid Mondragón in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 27 minutes C. A. Independiente's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Akakios Kountouratzis who took care of the corner kick. Paulo Renato Correia made a great header on DIABLO ROJO CALIFORNIANO's corner, it was just that C. A. Independiente's Farid Mondragón managed to reach the ball for a save. Wilbur Bain fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Farid Mondragón having to interfere. C. A. Independiente made a substitution. Tommie Bolton replaced Sidney Forbes. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Wilbur Bain made a kick off. Baykan Erincer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kerry Sellers in the 54th minute of play. Farid Mondragón made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wilbur Bain in the 57th minute of play. After 61 minutes of play, DIABLO ROJO CALIFORNIANO's Kazimierz Traczewski made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. In the 72nd minute Wilbur Bain shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Farid Mondragón saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Farid Mondragón showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kazimierz Traczewski in the 76th minute of the match. Wilbur Bain sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. DIABLO ROJO CALIFORNIANO's Garth Burrell was substituted for Wilbur Bain. C. A. Independiente's Garth Gould was substituted for Alfredo Felder. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in DIABLO ROJO CALIFORNIANO reached it. Farid Mondragón showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Garth Burrell in the 95th minute of the match. In the 97th minute, Garth Burrell left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The DIABLO ROJO CALIFORNIANO fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-1.
