The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Wahid Toussaint kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Bamboo Village Stars's Sherwin Gopee-Scoon got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Wintley Simmons showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Graph Ramgoonai, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Piarco Falcons's zone, Sherwin Gopee-Scoon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wintley Simmons came out of the goal and Sherwin Gopee-Scoon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 21 minutes of play, Bamboo Village Stars's Everald Savary made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Wintley Simmons was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 34th minute Lewis Andrew Cipriani shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mohammed Whitley saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Roaring Denoon struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Mohammed Whitley didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Piarco Falcons. Lionel Baptiste's late challenge caught a Piarco Falcons's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lionel Baptiste helped the player get up and apologised. After 42 played minutes Piarco Falcons got a freekick which was hit by Wahid Toussaint. When the match clock showed 44 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Sherwin Gopee-Scoon sped through Piarco Falcons's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Wintley Simmons. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Roaring Denoon to make the kick off. Wintley Simmons took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sherwin Gopee-Scoon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Everald Savary recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Piarco Falcons's Roaring Denoon in the 62nd minute got a chance for a shot 62nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Wintley Simmons showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sherwin Gopee-Scoon in the 78th minute of the match. Lewis Andrew Cipriani sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 82 minutes into the match, Bamboo Village Stars's goal looked a bit too open when Roaring Denoon came free, but Mohammed Whitley reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Roaring Denoon in the 84th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mohammed Whitley prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Lewis Andrew Cipriani recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Roaring Denoon might have been able to make a better finish in the 91st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mohammed Whitley. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Roaring Denoon ran back to his position shaking his head. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
