Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Curepe's Pete Theobald started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Densill David received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Dominic Adams tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pete Sinanan's late challenge caught a Sunrisers Fc.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pete Sinanan helped the player get up and apologised. In the 8th minute, Pete Sinanan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Pete Theobald came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Curepe fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pete Theobald couldn't finish the play. Pete Sinanan was shown his second yellow card after 14 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. A collision led to Curepe getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Pete Sinanan hit a great ball. Dominic Adams showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Densill David, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Nyron Johnson kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. Wilmoth Pierre sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 37th minute, Lawrence Anwar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Danny Joseph fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Denis Eniceicu having to interfere. If Darryl McClean had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Densill David stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Wilmoth Pierre hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Curepe's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Wilmoth Pierre 57 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-1. 62 minutes into the match, Curepe's Danny Joseph sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Denis Eniceicu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Densill David's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dominic Adams read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 66th minute of play. In the 67th minute Wilmoth Pierre shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dominic Adams saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Denis Eniceicu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Danny Joseph in the 71st minute of play. In the 81st minute, Curepe's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Densill David fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 84 minutes into the game, Densill David cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Dominic Adams was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Dominic Adams made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wilmoth Pierre in the 90th minute of play. After some careless play in the Sunrisers Fc. defense, Danny Joseph kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Denis Eniceicu. The Sunrisers Fc. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Denis Eniceicu should have stopped the shot. Sunrisers Fc.'s players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
