But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lendl Ramadhin couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nizar Winchester in the 7th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Neville Guiness saved Brighton SC from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Collin String Band managed to get in a good position for a shot. Brighton SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Collin String Band was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Roger Hamilton-Holder breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Nizar Winchester had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Brighton SC booed when Oropune Village FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mikela Hamilton-Maurice didn't get a good kick on the ball. Collin String Band received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Roger Hamilton-Holder tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gillian Armitage kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Oropune Village FC's zone, Collin String Band stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Roger Hamilton-Holder came out of the goal and Collin String Band tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nizar Winchester in the 28th minute of play forced Brighton SC's goalkeeper Neville Guiness to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 28th minute, Nigel Dookeran hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nizar Winchester received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Neville Guiness tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 34 minutes into the match, Collin String Band notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Oropune Village FC's Roger Hamilton-Holder. Roger Hamilton-Holder was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Densill Toussaint hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. If Roaring Corneal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Brighton SC were awarded a corner in the 47th minute after Oropune Village FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Gregory Maharaj took the corner. The corner ended in Delon Najjar almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Oropune Village FC's Roger Hamilton-Holder did a great save. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nizar Winchester to make the kick off. Surujrattan Anwar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roger Hamilton-Holder having to interfere. After having played for 62 minutes, Lendl Ramadhin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Brighton SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lendl Ramadhin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 63 minutes into the match, Collin String Band dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Roger Hamilton-Holder, 0-2. A collision led to Brighton SC getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Gillian Armitage hit a great ball. Neville Guiness took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nizar Winchester, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Oropune Village FC getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Hector Orminston Abdulah hit a great ball. With a little luck, Oropune Village FC's Roger Hamilton-Holder got control of the ball when Lendl Ramadhin tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 73rd minute, Densill Toussaint hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Neville Guiness made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roaring Corneal in the 76th minute of play. Lendl Ramadhin in the 86thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Roger Hamilton-Holder, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Neville Guiness showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nizar Winchester, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute.
