Spectators: 9103 (Terracing: 6920, Seating: 2000, VIP seats: 183) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Scott Sawh made the kick off which started today's match. The supporters of La Trinitense Mecánica booed when Tibures del oriente was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Steve Magloire didn't get a good kick on the ball. 7 minutes into the match, La Trinitense Mecánica's goal looked a bit too open when Solomon Latapy came free, but Robert Baldeosingh reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tibures del oriente's Gibran Peltier played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Darren Persaud in the 11th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Tibures del oriente's Steve Magloire got a free kick in the 12th minute. In the 15th minute Scott Sawh shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robert Baldeosingh saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 16 minutes, Scott Sawh put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Robert Baldeosingh. Robert Baldeosingh stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Solomon Latapy's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. When La Trinitense Mecánica's Darren Persaud in the 26th minute got a chance for a shot 26th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Tibures del oriente's goalie prevented a goal. Robert Baldeosingh made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Solomon Latapy in the 28th minute of play. In the 32nd minute, Winston Ramnath ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gibran Peltier was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. In the 41st minute, Charles London hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, La Trinitense Mecánica's Ronald Knaggs tried to score from far away in the 42nd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After 45 played minutes La Trinitense Mecánica got a freekick which was hit by Khalid Ramgoonai. An unexpectedly hard shot by Solomon Latapy in the 47th minute of play forced La Trinitense Mecánica's goalkeeper Robert Baldeosingh to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Darren Persaud made a kick off. Solomon Latapy blasted a shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Robert Baldeosingh having to make a save. In the 58th minute, Solomon Latapy fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Solomon Latapy managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tibures del oriente's supporters rose to their feet, but Solomon Latapy was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Robert Baldeosingh breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Solomon Latapy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Robert Baldeosingh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Steve Walcott kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. In the 69th minute Darren Persaud shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gibran Peltier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Tibures del oriente's Scott Sawh slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Robert Baldeosingh. That made the score 1-2 after 72 minutes of play. In the 75th match minute, La Trinitense Mecánica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bird Garcia to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Tibures del oriente getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Lawrence Joseph hit a great ball. Winston Ramnath recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. La Trinitense Mecánica's defense didn't have a chance, in the 81st minute, when Scott Sawh scored to the left of an out of position Robert Baldeosingh, making the score, 1-3. In the 90th minute, Darren Persaud left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The La Trinitense Mecánica fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3. The Tibures del oriente supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Tibures del oriente would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
