Mohammed Rougier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Brother Popo in the 13th minute of the match. Manny Voisin scored 0-1 in the 14th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mohammed Rougier, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Roderick Moonilal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bas Holder charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bas Holder the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 29 played minutes San Fernando Fire got a freekick which was hit by Bas Holder. Brother Popo, 30 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Mohammed Rougier showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jeffrey Selvon, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. In the 38th minute Jeffrey Selvon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mohammed Rougier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Subhas Abdul-Hamid during the 39th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 39 played minutes San Fernando Fire got a freekick which was hit by Subhas Abdul-Hamid. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manny Voisin in the 41st minute of play forced San Fernando Fire's goalkeeper Mohammed Rougier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Jeffrey Selvon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Inversion were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Roderick Moonilal was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Manny Voisin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 56 minutes, Jeffrey Selvon managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Inversion's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jeffrey Selvon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 64 played minutes San Fernando Fire got a freekick which was hit by Kern Mohan. After 65 played minutes, Inversion's Brother Popo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Mohammed Rougier came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Inversion reached it. Jason Scott hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. San Fernando Fire's defense didn't have a chance, in the 84th minute, when Jeffrey Selvon scored to the left of an out of position Mohammed Rougier, making the score, 1-2. The supporters of San Fernando Fire booed when Inversion was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jeffrey Selvon didn't get a good kick on the ball. Anthony Asgarali made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kevon Cummings in the 90th minute of play. After 92 minutes Inversion's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Kern Mohan who took care of the corner kick. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Manny Voisin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Inversion's supporters rose to their feet, but Manny Voisin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mohammed Rougier breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. San Fernando Fire's Bas Holder got his second yellow card of the match in the 96th minute. The referee ordered Bas Holder off the ground. After a rather tough play, San Fernando Fire's Bas Holder got a free kick in the 96th minute. Manny Voisin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 98th minute. Mohammed Rougier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
