To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee ignored Cosme's protests and gave Edmundo Heso a yellow card for diving instead. After having played for 52 minutes, Ticho Vallejoller managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Itacora's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ticho Vallejoller was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gipuzkoa Zaldivar hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. After 59 minutes of play, Cosme's Joam Badas made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net.
