Xamin Capitan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Markel Barambio having to interfere. Markel Barambio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Guillem Arbulo in the 38th minute of the match. With a little luck, Deportivo San Lorenzo's Porfirio Guedella got control of the ball when Pio Guera tried to sneak it across the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Argenis Closa in the 46th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Porfirio Guedella saved Deportivo San Lorenzo from getting behind. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Xesus Dozal's late challenge caught a Elvira FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Xesus Dozal helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Elvira FC booed when Deportivo San Lorenzo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. The Elvira FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Deportivo San Lorenzo were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
