Spectators: 6782 (Terracing: 5000,
Seating: 1782, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Argenis Closa started the match with the kick off. After some careless play in the Elvira FC defense, Florentino Area kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Markel Barambio. The Elvira FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Markel Barambio should have stopped the shot. After 19 minutes, Michael Natos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Montevideo and the Elvira FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Michael Natos kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Argenis Closa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Elvira FC's Markel Barambio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yoelvis Marsol in the 27th minute of play. 29 minutes into the match, Montevideo's goal looked a bit too open when Argenis Closa came free, but Gilesindo Elguera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nel Artieta hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Pio Guera managed to get in a good position for a shot. Elvira FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Pio Guera was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gilesindo Elguera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 38th minute, Yoelvis Marsol made a precise shot to the right of Markel Barambio. Elvira FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. In the 43rd minute of the match, Argenis Closa tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Gilesindo Elguera saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Montevideo's Michael Natos got his second yellow card of the match in the 46th minute. The referee ordered Michael Natos off the ground. A collision led to Montevideo getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Michael Natos hit a great ball. In the 48th minute, Pio Guera fired away a shot that was totally unreachable for Gilesindo Elguera. The ball ended up just outside the left post, and Elvira FC's manager could be seen angrily pacing the sidelines. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Yoelvis Marsol made a kick off. Gilesindo Elguera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Argenis Closa in the 53rd minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Argenis Closa in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gilesindo Elguera saved Montevideo from getting behind. 58 minutes into the match, Montevideo's goal looked a bit too open when Pio Guera came free, but Gilesindo Elguera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Yoelvis Marsol could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Markel Barambio made a huge save. When Esiquio Aballe fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Elvira FC's protests and gave Esiquio Aballe a yellow card for diving instead. Esiquio Aballe hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pio Guera in the 63rd minute of play forced Montevideo's goalkeeper Gilesindo Elguera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pio Guera's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gilesindo Elguera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 64th minute of play. When Pio Guera came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Elvira FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pio Guera couldn't finish the play. After having played for 72 minutes, Florentino Area managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Montevideo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Florentino Area was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Yoelvis Marsol received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Markel Barambio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Markel Barambio made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Nel Artieta sent off a good shot on target. Gilesindo Elguera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pio Guera in the 77th minute of play. If Pio Guera had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 82nd minute, Yoelvis Marsol left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Montevideo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. Argenis Closa scored 1-4 in the 87th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gilesindo Elguera, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 92 minutes into the match, Pio Guera had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gilesindo Elguera. Montevideo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Pio Guera was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-4. Montevideo's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
