The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Isidro Betoño showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Goyo Ciencabrero in the 3rd minute of the match. After 4 minutes, Lartaun Gante mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cerro Porteño and the Ita players grew even worse after the yellow card. After having played for 16 minutes, Porfiro Arambarri managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cerro Porteño's supporters crossed their fingers, but Porfiro Arambarri was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match had gone on for 17 minutes, Kauan Moura put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Isidro Betoño. After a rather tough play, Ita's Manolito Miranes got a free kick in the 20th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kauan Moura in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Isidro Betoño saved Ita from getting behind. Goyo Ciencabrero scored 1-2 in the 31st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Isidro Betoño, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 40 minutes into the game, Cerro Porteño's Kauan Moura nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Isidro Betoño made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-4. Artur Kiviloo hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Porfiro Arambarri came free in the 47th minute and tried to tip the ball over Isidro Betoño, but to the joy of Ita's supporters the ball went over. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Kauan Moura made a kick off. After 52 minutes, Garikoitz Erus mouthed his way into the referee's book.
