The referee ignored Borussia Dortmund's protests and gave Romano Suarez a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Borussia Dortmund's Romano Suarez got a free kick in the 25th minute. After 26 minutes, Ceferino Foubelo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Borussia Dortmund and the Mbopicua players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 27th minute, Ceferino Foubelo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Furman Armida might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ramon Mañaria. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Furman Armida ran back to his position shaking his head. Ramon Mañaria showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maraman Vozmediana, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. 35 minutes into the game, one of Mbopicua:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. 2-0 came in the 37th minute when Marques Gorostieta all by himself managed to get straight through the defense and place the ball into the net to the right of Ramon Mañaria. Furman Armida sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 45 played minutes Borussia Dortmund got a freekick which was hit by Ceferino Foubelo. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Maraman Vozmediana to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Maraman Vozmediana managed to get in a good position for a shot. Borussia Dortmund's supporters rose to their feet, but Maraman Vozmediana was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ramon Mañaria breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Furman Armida sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Furman Armida received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Ramon Mañaria tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maraman Vozmediana in the 59th minute of play forced Mbopicua's goalkeeper Ramon Mañaria to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ramon Mañaria came out of the goal in the 61st minute to try and stop a shot by Borussia Dortmund's Ceferino Foubelo. But to his dismay, Ceferino Foubelo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Borussia Dortmund's Maraman Vozmediana got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Borussia Dortmund's Furman Armida in the 67th minute got a chance for a shot 67th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Mbopicua's goalie prevented a goal. Romano Suarez was shown his second yellow card after 71 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 72nd minute, Romano Suarez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vladimiro Porquera was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 74th minute. Mbopicua's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Furman Armida fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ramon Mañaria having to interfere. 77 minutes into the game, Ceferino Foubelo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Ramon Mañaria was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Borussia Dortmund's Elizardo Sotes in the 83rd minute got a chance for a shot 83rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Mbopicua's goalie prevented a goal. After 90 played minutes Borussia Dortmund got a freekick which was hit by Maraman Vozmediana. Borussia Dortmund's Ticho Mioño played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ofelio Posadas in the 92nd minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Furman Armida in the 95th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ramon Mañaria prevented the ball from getting in the gole. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Borussia Dortmund fully deserved thier win.
