The referee showed Sein Avila the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Sein Avila hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lehior Amezaga in the 25th minute of play forced AS ROMA's goalkeeper Tzvetoslav Tzenev to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Chago Monterrey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sein Avila was shown his second yellow card after 33 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. The supporters of AS ROMA booed when Minga Guazú FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sein Avila didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 35 minutes, Roberto Nanning managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AS ROMA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Roberto Nanning was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 37 minutes into the game, Roberto Nanning recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Xabel Garibay. Roberto Nanning showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. 3-0 became the score in the 47th minute when Chago Monterrey elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Pau Porquera to strike the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the game, AS ROMA's Chago Monterrey nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Xabel Garibay made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. In the 60th minute Chago Monterrey shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Xabel Garibay saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 62 minutes into the match, Chago Monterrey had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Xabel Garibay. Minga Guazú FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Chago Monterrey was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. In the 77th minute, Roberto Nanning got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Chago Monterrey in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Xabel Garibay prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 81stth minute of the game Chago Monterrey who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Minga Guazú FC's Xabel Garibay was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some careless play in the Minga Guazú FC defense, Jatsu Guerra kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Xabel Garibay. The Minga Guazú FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Xabel Garibay should have stopped the shot. AS ROMA's Chago Monterrey got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Pau Porquera had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. AS ROMA's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
