Jaen Reimundez scored 1-0 in the 12th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Chano Ybañez, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 16 minutes into the game, Oliveiro Llamazares cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Chano Ybañez was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of Union booed when Taruma was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zuri Casas made a great header on Union's corner, it was just that Taruma's Luciano Ororbia managed to reach the ball for a save. Chano Ybañez made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jaen Reimundez in the 30th minute. When Peyo Felix came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Union fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Peyo Felix couldn't finish the play. In the 79th minute, Romelio Molino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 80th minute Peyo Felix shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luciano Ororbia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 97 minutes into the match, Taruma's Oliveiro Llamazares sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Chano Ybañez narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Union's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
