Nereo Caruezo showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. With 14 minutes on the clock, Raymond Negron commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 13th minute of the game. One of Mercedes:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Ramos FC:s goal. The goalkeeper, Belmiro Cobarrubias, was totally fooled by Ramos FC's Pietro Geras, who 16 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. After a rather tough play, Ramos FC's Botello Bernaldez got a free kick in the 22nd minute. If Godofredo Buruaga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nereo Caruezo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Egoi Marquina kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Belmiro Cobarrubias. That made the score 3-0 in the 35 minute of play. If Egoi Marquina had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nereo Caruezo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Botello Bernaldez was shown his second yellow card after 46 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nereo Caruezo made a kick off. Belmiro Cobarrubias took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Silvano Roiz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Manilan Barbosa's late challenge caught a Ramos FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Manilan Barbosa helped the player get up and apologised. Manilan Barbosa hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Mercedes's Belmiro Cobarrubias played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nereo Caruezo in the 55th minute of play. 60 minutes into the match, Mercedes's goal looked a bit too open when Nereo Caruezo came free, but Belmiro Cobarrubias reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Godofredo Buruaga got free with Armando Cervantez in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Silvano Roiz in the 83rd minute of play forced Mercedes's goalkeeper Belmiro Cobarrubias to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Godofredo Buruaga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Ramos FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Mercedes had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
