Spectators: 6797 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1797, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Machado Rius started the match with the kick off. Triangulo's Natal Arbaiza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rik Cancela in the 4th minute of play. Gillermo Rendueles charged in rather forcefully in the 6th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gillermo Rendueles the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Gillermo Rendueles kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. Mercedes's Baldomero Manzanal couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 7th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Triangulo. When Gillermo Rendueles was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 12 minutes had been played. After a rather tough play, Triangulo's Gillermo Rendueles got a free kick in the 13th minute. The long shot by Baldomero Manzanal in the 14th minute really tested Natal Arbaiza's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. In the 15th minute of the match, Rik Cancela tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Natal Arbaiza saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After a rather tough play, Triangulo's Gustavo Abin got a free kick in the 16th minute. When Godofredo Buruaga came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Mercedes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Godofredo Buruaga couldn't finish the play. In the 20th minute, Baldomero Manzanal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Mercedes booed when Triangulo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lleir Cirarruista didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rik Cancela sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Belmiro Cobarrubias took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Machado Rius, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Triangulo's zone, Rik Cancela stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Natal Arbaiza came out of the goal and Rik Cancela tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rik Cancela to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rik Cancela in the 52nd minute of play forced Triangulo's goalkeeper Natal Arbaiza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 54 minutes, Andres Uralde took a quick shot and it went in 0-1 without a chance for Belmiro Cobarrubias to make any attempt to save it. Mannuel Saa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Belmiro Cobarrubias tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mannuel Saa received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Belmiro Cobarrubias came out and tried to block the shot, but Mannuel Saa slotted it home off the left post making it 0-2 in the 60th minute. Damario Moyuelo kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. After 69 played minutes Mercedes got a freekick which was hit by Lorenzo Herro. 76 minutes into the match, Mannuel Saa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Belmiro Cobarrubias. Mercedes's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mannuel Saa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Natal Arbaiza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rik Cancela, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Rik Cancela received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Natal Arbaiza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Godofredo Buruaga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
