The ball went over the crossbar instead. 17 minutes into the match, Curupayty FC's Xayvion Encalada sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Monico Alderete narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tito Beltranilla in the 20th minute of play forced Laurel's goalkeeper Monico Alderete to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Xayvion Encalada sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 28 minutes into the match, Leizarraga Gaviria had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Monico Alderete. Laurel's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Leizarraga Gaviria was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Xayvion Encalada recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Serafo Cantillo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Ximen Cuba tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Serafo Cantillo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd match minute, Curupayty FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zoil Setien to maneuver through the defense. 59 minutes into the match, Laurel's goalkeeper Monico Alderete had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Leizarraga Gaviria. In the 60th minute, Refugio Escarza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Xusto Lope in the 90th minute of play forced Curupayty FC's goalkeeper Ximen Cuba to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 92nd match minute, Curupayty FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zoil Setien to maneuver through the defense. Ximen Cuba showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Serafo Cantillo in the 94th minute of the match. Curupayty FC played a much better game than Laurel and deserved their victory. The Laurel players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
