Manuel Aedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oxarra Teberga in the 23rd minute of play. 24 minutes into the match, Chelsea FC's goal looked a bit too open when Gipuzkoa Villafana came free, but Ivan Asturianos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 25 minutes, Gipuzkoa Villafana managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Paraguay's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gipuzkoa Villafana was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 37thth minute of the game Gipuzkoa Villafana who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Chelsea FC's Ivan Asturianos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Manuel Aedo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Caetano Uralde in the 39th minute of the match. The supporters of Chelsea FC booed when Paraguay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Xepe Hermo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Paraguay's Manuel Aedo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save Paraguay from getting a goal against them. When Luis Millon fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Paraguay's protests and gave Luis Millon a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Paraguay's Luis Millon got a free kick in the 46th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Oskarbi Perana charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Oskarbi Perana the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Chelsea FC getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Oskarbi Perana hit a great ball. After 60 minutes of play, Paraguay's Gipuzkoa Villafana made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ivan Asturianos was left in no man's land by his defense there! A collision led to Paraguay getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Egoi Castellana hit a great ball. Bertol Lormendez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rafel Villajane sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Xepe Hermo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gipuzkoa Villafana in the 76th minute of play forced Chelsea FC's goalkeeper Ivan Asturianos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Chelsea FC's zone, Gipuzkoa Villafana stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ivan Asturianos came out of the goal and Gipuzkoa Villafana tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Marcial Achutegui was extremely unlucky when he, in the 80th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. If Gipuzkoa Villafana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Chelsea FC's Caetano Uralde got a free kick in the 86th minute. Santikurtz Asas made in the 88th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Lucio Montalban. 91 minutes into the game, Gipuzkoa Villafana recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ivan Asturianos. Gipuzkoa Villafana showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-3. After 94 played minutes Chelsea FC got a freekick which was hit by Ereinotz Vaquero. In the 95th minute, Paraguay's Xepe Hermo ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ivan Asturianos. Ivan Asturianos yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-4.
