FRANCISCO's defense didn't have a chance, in the 8th minute, when Vilmar Heidemann scored to the left of an out of position Ciano Govelo, making the score, 1-1. 13 minutes into the match, Chineze Cannavaro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Oscar Cordoba. Made in Paraguay's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Chineze Cannavaro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. 17 minutes into the game, Made in Paraguay's Roque Santa Cruz nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ciano Govelo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. Arnulfo Bizi might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ciano Govelo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Arnulfo Bizi ran back to his position shaking his head. With a little luck, FRANCISCO's Ciano Govelo got control of the ball when Roque Santa Cruz tried to sneak it across the goal line. Oscar Cordoba showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rodrigo Ayala, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Roque Santa Cruz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ciano Govelo made a fantastic save in the 32nd minute, when Roque Santa Cruz sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Esteves in the 34th minute of play forced Made in Paraguay's goalkeeper Oscar Cordoba to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Daunte Lucero hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Arturo Antonijoan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oscar Cordoba having to interfere. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rodrigo Ayala was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Roque Santa Cruz left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Made in Paraguay fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-2. Ciano Govelo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roque Santa Cruz in the 59th minute of play. A sloppy throw-in by Telesforo Reyes in the 64th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Made in Paraguay's Joseba Font. Made in Paraguay's Joseba Font managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Telesforo Reyes in the 65 minute of the game. Made in Paraguay made a substitution. Blanco Cotilla replaced Joseba Font. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Sendoa Najera managed to get in a good position for a shot. Made in Paraguay's supporters rose to their feet, but Sendoa Najera was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ciano Govelo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 74th minute, Sendoa Najera ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ciano Govelo was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-2. Sendoa Najera recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Oscar Cordoba made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tim Spiteri Bailey in the 86th minute of play. In the 90th minute of the match Arnulfo Bizi shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ciano Govelo showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Made in Paraguay were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of FRANCISCO for a fine match.
