Herminio Umaña took the ball and in the 30 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Edwar Saviñón. Edwar Saviñón dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. When the match had gone on for 34 minutes, Vinicio Pineda took a quick shot and it went in 3-1 without a chance for Salvador Ramos to make any attempt to save it. 38 minutes into the game, Juan Carlos Sandford was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Garabito AF's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Villa Rivas the free kick. A collision led to Garabito AF getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Juan Carlos Sandford hit a great ball. If Roy Covarrubias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Herminio Umaña sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

Salvador Ramos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vinicio Pineda in the 55th minute of the match. Runelvys Badía hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Edwar Saviñón made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roy Covarrubias in the 63rd minute of play. Vinicio Pineda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Salvador Ramos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 68 minutes into the match, Villa Rivas's goal looked a bit too open when Ted Jiménez came free, but Salvador Ramos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Roy Covarrubias charged in rather forcefully in the 84th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Roy Covarrubias the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Roy Covarrubias kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. In the 87th match minute, Villa Rivas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Clement De Souza to maneuver through the defense. Vinicio Pineda kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. Edwar Saviñón took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roy Covarrubias, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 96th minute Roy Covarrubias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edwar Saviñón saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
