Spectators: 6867 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1867, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Elián Ibarra took the kick off in the first half of the match. Sergio Sepúlveda blasted a shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Elio Cano having to make a save. Sergio Sepúlveda's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Elio Cano read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 10th minute of play. Amilcar Méndez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elio Cano having to interfere. Elio Cano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sergio Sepúlveda, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Sergio Sepúlveda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Elio Cano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 16 minutes into the match, Barahona's goal looked a bit too open when Amilcar Méndez came free, but Elio Cano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 17th minute Sergio Sepúlveda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elio Cano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rafael Ontiveros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elián Ibarra in the 20th minute of the match. In the 22nd minute, Amilcar Méndez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the match clock showed 25 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Amilcar Méndez sped through Barahona's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Elio Cano. Amilcar Méndez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Elio Cano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 32 minutes into the game, Ciro Cedeño was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Barahona's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Club Atlético Univ. UASD the free kick. 33 minutes into the match, Club Atlético Univ. UASD's Bruno Valladares broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. 47 minutes into the game, Nicolás Noboa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Barahona's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Club Atlético Univ. UASD the free kick. In the 47th minute, one of Barahona:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Barahona. In the 48th minute there was a penalty for Club Atlético Univ. UASD. Bruno Valladares stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Elio Cano. 0-2. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Amilcar Méndez was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Club Atlético Univ. UASD's zone, Domingo Hutton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rafael Ontiveros came out of the goal and Domingo Hutton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Club Atlético Univ. UASD getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Quique Juárez hit a great ball. Rafael Ontiveros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elián Ibarra, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Amilcar Méndez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elio Cano having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Domingo Hutton in the 76th minute of play forced Club Atlético Univ. UASD's goalkeeper Rafael Ontiveros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Barahona getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Ciro Cedeño hit a great ball. Amilcar Méndez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Nicolás Noboa was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 91 minutes had been played. In the 92nd match minute, Barahona was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nicolás Noboa to maneuver through the defense. Club Atlético Univ. UASD's supporters stood up full of expectation in the 94th minute of the game, when Porfirio Medrano after an extraordinary solo performance found himself with a golden opportunity in front of Barahona's goal. Porfirio Medrano was unfortunally a little to anxious and the ball went outside the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amilcar Méndez in the 96th minute of play forced Barahona's goalkeeper Elio Cano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Barahona's Elio Cano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amilcar Méndez in the 97th minute of play. When the match was over Club Atlético Univ. UASD could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Barahona throughout the match.
