Américo Peterson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Charlie Banister in the 20th minute of the match. Fabio Espaillat fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carmelo Espinal having to interfere. Charlie Banister scored 0-1 in the 25th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Américo Peterson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in La Vega's zone, Charlie Banister stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Américo Peterson came out of the goal and Charlie Banister tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 31 minutes into the match, La Vega's goal looked a bit too open when Gabriel Boyd came free, but Américo Peterson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Merlin Meza kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. When Gabriel Boyd came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Pedernales fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gabriel Boyd couldn't finish the play. In the 37th minute Fabio Espaillat shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carmelo Espinal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 41 minutes, Gabriel Boyd put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Américo Peterson.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Fabio Espaillat to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 58th minute Fabio Espaillat shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carmelo Espinal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Carmelo Espinal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabio Espaillat in the 60th minute of the match. Juan José Corrales struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Carmelo Espinal didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for La Vega. Izzy Rivera sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 78th minute the ball was on its way in behind Pedernales's goalkeeper Carmelo Espinal, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 81 minutes into the match, La Vega's goal looked a bit too open when Izzy Rivera came free, but Américo Peterson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Pedernales booed when La Vega was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Geovanny Sosa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Américo Peterson acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 91st minute, took the ball on the long shot from Enrique Rivero. Carmelo Espinal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabio Espaillat, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Pedernales eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
