But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gabriel Boyd couldn't finish the play. Cristian Casagrande's late challenge caught a Pedernales's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cristian Casagrande helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Pedernales booed when Cabarete CF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristian Casagrande didn't get a good kick on the ball. Charlie Banister blasted a shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Buenaventura Montañas having to make a save. If Charlie Banister had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Buenaventura Montañas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Charlie Banister in the 26th minute of play. In the 31st minute, Charlie Banister got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Gabriel Boyd's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Buenaventura Montañas was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. Pedernales's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gabriel Boyd got free with Buenaventura Montañas in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cabarete CF's Buenaventura Montañas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Charlie Banister in the 88th minute of play. Gabriel Boyd who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 89thth minute tested the skills of Buenaventura Montañas when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Charlie Banister sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Buenaventura Montañas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Charlie Banister in the 94th minute of play. After having played for 97 minutes, Ivan Zambrano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cabarete CF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ivan Zambrano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
