After 19 played minutes Guayaubín UDC got a freekick which was hit by Bonifacio Galarza. In the 20th minute of the match Octavio Lugano shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ariel Halle showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Espaillat AC's Lesli Prado proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save Espaillat AC from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Josué Haas in the 24th minute of play forced Guayaubín UDC's goalkeeper Ariel Halle to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Guayaubín UDC defense, Josué Haas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ariel Halle. The Guayaubín UDC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ariel Halle should have stopped the shot. In the 35th minute, Josué Haas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ariel Halle was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Ariel Halle took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Josué Haas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Guayaubín UDC's Bonifacio Galarza got his second yellow card of the match in the 45th minute. The referee ordered Bonifacio Galarza off the ground. A collision led to Guayaubín UDC getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Bonifacio Galarza hit a great ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Isidoro Soria was the one to do the kick off. When Josué Haas came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Espaillat AC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Josué Haas couldn't finish the play. 55 minutes into the match, Espaillat AC's Isidoro Soria sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ariel Halle narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 62nd minute, Gonzalo Bonnelly made a precise shot to the right of Lesli Prado. Espaillat AC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Isidoro Soria in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ariel Halle saved Guayaubín UDC from getting behind. In the 69th minute, Humberto Patterson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Espaillat AC's Lesli Prado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Humberto Patterson in the 83rd minute of play. 90 minutes into the game, Isidoro Soria recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ariel Halle. Isidoro Soria showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-4. Josué Haas struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Ariel Halle didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Espaillat AC. Espaillat AC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
