An unexpectedly hard shot by Alejandro Osorio in the 7th minute of play forced Comendador CF's goalkeeper Merlin Lagos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 8th match minute, Comendador CF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alejandro Granados to maneuver through the defense. Alejandro Osorio's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Merlin Lagos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 29th minute of play. In the 31st minute Marcos Darcy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frank Melgarejo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Merlin Lagos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alejandro Osorio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hato Mayor CD's Frank Melgarejo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arthur Ventura in the 38th minute of play. Elio Banister kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. If Alejandro Osorio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Alejandro Osorio to strike the kick off in the second half. Marcos Darcy was extremely unlucky when he, in the 52nd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Rolando Albam received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Merlin Lagos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 56th minute Rolando Albam shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Merlin Lagos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cornelio Ontiveros hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Comendador CF's zone, Rolando Albam stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Merlin Lagos came out of the goal and Rolando Albam tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 60 minutes into the match, Comendador CF's goal looked a bit too open when Alejandro Osorio came free, but Merlin Lagos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Comendador CF's zone, Rolando Albam stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Merlin Lagos came out of the goal and Rolando Albam tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 69th match minute, Comendador CF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Victorino Graham to maneuver through the defense. 73 minutes into the match, Comendador CF's goal looked a bit too open when Alejandro Osorio came free, but Merlin Lagos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Frank Melgarejo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcos Darcy in the 76th minute of the match. Arthur Ventura fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frank Melgarejo having to interfere. After 79 played minutes Comendador CF got a freekick which was hit by Asdrubal Berrios. The audience was convinced that Rolando Albam's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Merlin Lagos was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. Stan Gaitán hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. 86 minutes into the match, Arthur Ventura had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Frank Melgarejo. Hato Mayor CD's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Arthur Ventura was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Rolando Albam recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 95th minute of the match Arismendy Rocha shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Merlin Lagos showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball.
