Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Zacarías Ulibarri kicked off to start the match. Homero Bravo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hernán Abbott went, in the 3rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. 6 minutes into the match, ESAB 96 FC's goalkeeper Fidel Caballero had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Carlos Soria. In the 9th minute Ronny Prieto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Homero Bravo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Grêmio's Vladimir Aguirre got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Vladimir Aguirre sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 19 played minutes Grêmio got a freekick which was hit by Zacarías Ulibarri. In the 21st minute Hernán Abbott shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Homero Bravo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zacarías Ulibarri received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Fidel Caballero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ronny Prieto kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Homero Bravo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ronny Prieto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fidel Caballero was out of position in the 34 minute of play, and Octavio Montemayor capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Octavio Montemayor really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. Homero Bravo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Salvador Carrizo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fidel Caballero was a little too slow when Zacarías Ulibarri got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 40th minute. The score was now 2-1. After a defensive mix-up in ESAB 96 FC's zone, Octavio Montemayor stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fidel Caballero came out of the goal and Octavio Montemayor tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Manuel Bustamante to strike the kick off in the second half. Zacarías Ulibarri received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Fidel Caballero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Zacarías Ulibarri took the ball and in the 53 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fidel Caballero. Fidel Caballero dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. When Grêmio's Zacarías Ulibarri in the 56th minute got a chance for a shot 56th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye ESAB 96 FC's goalie prevented a goal. 60 minutes into the match, ESAB 96 FC's goal looked a bit too open when Octavio Montemayor came free, but Fidel Caballero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zacarías Ulibarri in the 62nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fidel Caballero saved ESAB 96 FC from getting behind. Salvador Carrizo came free with the goalkeeper in the 63rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Homero Bravo could save by the left post. Octavio Montemayor hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. In the 67th match minute, Grêmio was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fidel Zayas to maneuver through the defense. In the 71st minute the ball was on its way in behind ESAB 96 FC's goalkeeper Fidel Caballero, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Fidel Caballero took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlos Soria, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fidel Caballero came out of the goal in the 75th minute to try and stop a shot by Grêmio's Zacarías Ulibarri. But to his dismay, Zacarías Ulibarri quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. If Salvador Carrizo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a rather tough play, Grêmio's Fausto Páez got a free kick in the 79th minute. After 80 played minutes, ESAB 96 FC's Martín Decoux shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Homero Bravo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in ESAB 96 FC reached it. Fidel Caballero showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vladimir Aguirre, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. Zacarías Ulibarri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fidel Caballero showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zacarías Ulibarri in the 85th minute of the match. Fidel Caballero came out of the goal in the 85th minute to try and stop a shot by Grêmio's Zacarías Ulibarri. But to his dismay, Zacarías Ulibarri quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-1. Ronny Prieto kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in ESAB 96 FC's zone, Vladimir Aguirre stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fidel Caballero came out of the goal and Vladimir Aguirre tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. There was no doubt that Grêmio were the better team. Grêmio's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
