An unexpectedly hard shot by Apolinar Vela in the 13th minute of play forced Las Casas AF's goalkeeper James Arbizu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Pueblo Viejo's Apolinar Vela got a free kick in the 15th minute. Apolinar Vela fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without James Arbizu having to interfere. In the 25th minute, Alejandro Cáceres hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Apolinar Vela had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Las Casas AF's Timo Apolonario got a free kick in the 30th minute. In the 33rd minute, Apolinar Vela left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Pueblo Viejo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. James Arbizu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Apolinar Vela, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 38th match minute, Las Casas AF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Franco Urquiza to maneuver through the defense. In the 39th minute, Apolinar Vela got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 40th minute, Gilberto Howard got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Pueblo Viejo's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
