In the 2nd match minute, Mao CP was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lucio Armas to maneuver through the defense. In the 3rd minute Toribio Monroy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eladio Vinicio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mao CP's Eladio Vinicio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Toribio Monroy in the 5th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Diómedes Carrera in the 7th minute of play forced Mao CP's goalkeeper Eladio Vinicio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Diómedes Carrera could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Eladio Vinicio made a huge save. In the 16th minute Toribio Monroy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eladio Vinicio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 18th minute, Anthony Matheus made a precise shot to the right of Rico Juárez. Sanabeta's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. In the 24th minute, Matt Caballero hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mao CP's Eladio Vinicio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Toribio Monroy in the 30th minute of play. With a little luck, Mao CP's Eladio Vinicio got control of the ball when Baldomero Riojas tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 34th match minute, Mao CP was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ovidio Pintos to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Toribio Monroy during the 36th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Mao CP booed when Sanabeta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Toribio Monroy didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Mao CP getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Germán Lemos hit a great ball. Matt Caballero struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Eladio Vinicio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sanabeta. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Toribio Monroy to make the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Anthony Matheus got free with Rico Juárez in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sanabeta's Baldomero Riojas got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Diómedes Carrera received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Eladio Vinicio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mao CP's Eladio Vinicio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diómedes Carrera in the 66th minute of play. In the 70th minute Diómedes Carrera shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eladio Vinicio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 72 minutes, Anthony Matheus managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mao CP's supporters crossed their fingers, but Anthony Matheus was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Eladio Vinicio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Toribio Monroy in the 80th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Sanabeta's zone, Anthony Matheus stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rico Juárez came out of the goal and Anthony Matheus tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Mao CP getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Anthony Matheus hit a great ball. The Sanabeta manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Mao CP to win.
