Bartolomeo Fowler took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Esmerling Arellano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lucio Chapado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Juan José Treviño in the 34th minute of play. 39 minutes into the match, Guzmán's Eloy Canellas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bartolomeo Fowler narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Bartolomeo Fowler was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
