After recieving a nice pass, Villa Mella CF's Eude Valdez tried to score from far away in the 36th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Armando Herrero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 41st minute, Federico Ávila got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 43rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Villa Mella CF's goalkeeper Kelvin Badía, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Gervasio Pedraza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 49th minute Gervasio Pedraza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bartolo Melgar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

After a defensive mix-up in Consuelo CD's zone, Gervasio Pedraza stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bartolo Melgar came out of the goal and Gervasio Pedraza tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Gervasio Pedraza managed to get in a good position for a shot. Villa Mella CF's supporters rose to their feet, but Gervasio Pedraza was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bartolo Melgar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 67 played minutes, Consuelo CD's Ernesto Arrese shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Kelvin Badía came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Consuelo CD reached it. In the 71st minute Elio Arrieta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kelvin Badía saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
